What is the CenterStage Challenge?

IMG_1319.JPG

Objectives

In a traditional FTC match, there are two alliances with two teams on each alliance (total of four robots on the field). The object of the game is to attain a higher score than the opposing alliance by picking up pixels and dropping them into a backdrop, creating different color mosaics, navigating under the truss. Many of the points scored in this game tend to be in the autonomous period.

What We Can Do

Autonomous

Period

In the Autonomous Period, we can place Pixels on the Backdrop for 5 points each, or place them in the Backstage for 3 points each. Robots can also park in the Backstage for 5 points at the end of the period. If a Pixel is placed in the randomly chosen Backdrop target, we earn a 10-point bonus.

Driver Controlled Period

In the Driver Controlled Period, we can move quickly around the field with our mecanum wheels and cycle Pixels under the stage truss. Our main focus is creating Mosaics on the Backdrop by placing three Pixels of the same color or three Pixels of different colors together.

End

Game

In the Endgame, we can move throw a paper airplane over the truss design. We can also hang with a tape measure seen above. This combined with the paper airplane launcher helped us win the Design Award. On average we score 70 points, best case scenario we would score 100.
